Sam’s PB & J Protein Smoothie

Just a quick recipe for my favorite morning protein smoothie go to. The strawberry infused “PB & J” smoothie is simple to make, hearty, delicious and full of nutrients.

I start with about three handfuls of frozen strawberries which comes to about 2 – 3 cups worth. Then some room temperature water is added to warm up and thin the mixture and make it drinkable after blending.

Add in your choice of protein powder, about 1 scoop. I don’t have a specific recommendation here until a company sponsors me to schlep for their brand. Use what you like for now until I tell you what is good.

Spoon in a thick dollop of peanut butter, about two tablespoons to give it some salty aftertaste, additional protein and some fat too. Top with a banana for flavor and body then blend.

In the amounts here it makes a perfect breakfast on the go that offers up a lot of the goodness dieticians recommend. I like to have one of these after a workout at the gym or just on my way out the door to work. Enjoy!

2-3 cups frozen strawberries

8-10 oz room temperature water

1-2 scoops preferred protein powder

2 tablespoons peanut butter

1 banana
